Atlas Asbestos Mine

Shown on the Santa Rita Peak 7.5" quadrangle at N36° 19.415; W120° 35.331 at 4364 feet. The Atlas Asbestos Mine operated from 1963 to 1980 on a 435-acre site within the Clear Creek Management Area. The abandoned site consists of the chrysotile mine and extensive chrysotile tailings.
