Condon Peak

Named on Santa Rita Peak 7.5' quadrangle at N36° 19.025; W120° 37.035 at 4950 feet. This peak is shown on an 1891 map of San Benito County, but no name is given for it. It is named Condon Peak on a 1915 map by Aderson and Pack, but not included in their list of defined names suggesting that the name was well establish by 1915. It is thought by some locals that this peak is named for a sheepherder.
