Spanish LakeNamed on Santa Rita Peak 7.5' quadrangle. This is properly known as Mexican Lake by locals. It is also sometimes simply called The Lake. This is a natural rain-fed depression that frequently fills with enough water so that it retains water throughout the year. It was a common myth held by a few locals in the area during the late 1800s and early 1900s that this was the caldron of an ancient volcano.
